# Guide

This page provides a detailed description of the Low Stock Notifier application. First, let's understand what a "Low Stock Notifier" is. How does it work, and what are its benefits?

**What is Low Stock Notifier?**

Low Stock Notifier application helps users create a notifier so that whenever stock items reach a threshold value (minimum value), users will receive detailed notifications on low-stock items via email or Slack.

The main purpose of a Low Stock Notifier is for merchants to keep track of stock items in the store so that they can be replenished on time without impacting services.

### How does Low Stock Notifier work? <a href="#how-does-low-stock-notifier-works" id="how-does-low-stock-notifier-works"></a>

The “Low Stock Notifier” application works in such a way that it compares the total available number of variant inventory with the threshold level. If the available number of variant inventory is less than or equal to the threshold level, then a notification is sent to the recipient email ID (email ID given at the time of creating the notifier).

For example, if the threshold value is set to zero and the variant inventory value reaches less than or equal to the threshold value, then an email will be triggered for a given email ID.

## How to Create a Notifier in iAlert

### Step 1: Download "Low Stock & In Stock Notifier" App on Shopify

1. **Login to Shopify Platform**:
   * Open your Shopify admin panel and log in with your credentials.
2. **Navigate to the Apps Section**:

   * Use the search bar to find the "Low Stock & In Stock Notifier" app.
4. **Download and Install the App**:
   * Click on the app and follow the instructions to download and install it.

3. **Stock Threshold Level**:
   * Set a numeric value for the stock threshold. This value will be compared with the available stock to trigger notifications.
4. **Compare Stock Threshold With**:
   * Choose whether to compare the stock threshold with variant inventory.
     * **Variant Inventory**: Compares the inventory numbers of each variant.

### Step 4: Configure Frequency

   * **Run on the Following Days**: Select the days you want notifications to be sent.
   * **Time to Run**: Set the specific time for the notifications.

     * **Run Once a Day**: Notifications are sent once daily at the specified time.
     * **Run Every 3 Hours**: Notifications are sent every 3 hours.
     * **Run Every 6 Hours**: Notifications are sent every 6 hours.
     * **Run Every 12 Hours**: Notifications are sent every 12 hours.
2. **Filters**:
   * **Send Notification Only if There is at least 1 Low Stock Item**: Sends emails only when there is at least one Low Stock item.
   * **Do Not Send the Same Items Again Until the Stock is Replenished: This prevents** duplicate notifications until the stock is replenished.
3. **Instant (Real-time) Notifications**:
   * Automatically sends notifications in real-time when stock levels reach the threshold.
   * **Replenishment Condition**: Ensures no duplicate alerts are sent until the stock is replenished.

### Step 5: Set Filters

1. **Track Quantity Filter**:
   * Ensures only items with the 'Track quantity' option enabled are considered.
2. **Product Visibility**:
   * Filters products that are visible in the online store.
3. **Exclude "Continue Selling Out of Stock" Products**:
   * Excludes products with the 'Continue selling out of stock' option enabled.
4. **Product Status Filter**:
   * Filters products based on their status: Active, Draft, or Archived.
5. **Collections Filter**:
